Music

A concert is over in a moment. The light changes, the song ends, the crowd shifts — and whatever just happened dissolves back into noise. These photographs are an attempt to hold that moment still. Shot across years and stages, from festival fields to the smallest rooms in DC, the images here are black and white by intention. Color in live music is distraction — the gel lights, the haze, the spectacle. Strip it away and what remains is the thing itself: the tension in a hand, the closed eyes of someone lost in a note, the particular way a body gives itself over to sound.
